These types of rays can actually start to damage the interior of your car. Not only this, but it can make it much warmer in the car and these UV rays can also harm the people inside of the car.
Additional Things: due to recent technologies in windshield glass, you can now have you antenna directly inside of your windshield. Now, this does not necessarily affect you, but it will help the resale of your car because it will no longer have a large antenna sticking up from the vehicle.

To make sure that your laminated glass is always in its best condition, you should make sure to always fix any cracks or chips on the glass as soon as possible. Just because it does not go all the way through the glass and ruin it, if something else were to happen, it may make the glass easier to break.
